THE REND LAKE REST AREA
The Rend Lake Rest Area is designed to replace an existing rest stop on the south bound side of Interstate 57 at Rend Lake Illinois. The site is surrounded on three sides by the lake where the Interstate crosses over the lake with on a causeway. The Rest Area, with its shade canopy and tower, is designed to be a beacon to travelers and will be visible from the Interstate as well as from the opposite shores of the lake.
